Unfortunately Mautic still haven’t figure it out how to do a user friendly update process. If your update is stuck at step 3 or your site doesn’t work after an update, try this:

  1. Connect to your server with ssh
  2. Find your Mautic root folder, usually it is /var/www/html/mautic
  3. Now you can manually check for a new update: php app/console mautic:update:find
  4. If an update has been found, you can run the update command: php app/console mautic:update:apply –force

Most likely you will see something like this:

Some updates also include changes to the database structure. You can use the following commands to take care of that:

5. Run database migrations: database migrations: php app/console doctrine:migration:migrate

6. Update your database schema: php app/console doctrine:schema:update –force

7. Now warm up your cache: php app/console cache:warmup

8. Don’t forget to give permission to cache folder: sudo chmod -R 777 /var/www/html/Mautic/app/cache
(make sure you are using the right path)

9. Try to log in. If you can’t login, try to clear your browser cache also and you will see your mautic has upgraded
